Abby Hawkins
Abby is an Adjunct Professor/Instructor who teaches counseling as well as provides therapy. Abby Hawkins is a National Board Certified Counselor(NCC), a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CCATP) as well as a Certified Greif Counseling Specialist and both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). She graduated with her master‘s of science in clinical mental health counseling, with honors, in 2017. Abby is currently on the Tarleton State University Advisory Board for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Abby is the Alumni Representative and mentor for the masters level honors program she was in, at Tarleton State University. Abby was selected as the Outstanding Graduate for the Department of Health Sciences and Human Services at Tarleton State University in August of 2017. Abby graduated with her bachelor’s of science in psychology, with honors, in 2015. Abby's experience includes: individual counseling, crisis assessing, group therapy, family and couples therapy as well as case management. Abby works with various age groups including children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Abby works with numerous mental health needs including different forms of psychosis, substance abuse and addictions, depression, anxiety, trauma, crisis, relationship stressors, personality disorder etcetera. Abby has worked in many settings and facilities including inpatient, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. Abby also recently started writing books for self-care, education and mental health.
