Adam Benden
I received my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Science in Social Work in 2016 and 2017 from UT Austin. Throughout my career, I have worked in the nonprofit sector as a trauma therapist, trauma clinics, and a ketamine clinic as a therapist and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapist. I specialize in treating complex and developmental trauma with young adults, adults, and couples. My approach as a therapist is deeply informed by own trauma healing journey and over 25 years of study in psychology, philosophy, and from my practices in Buddhism and yoga. I draw extensively on attachment theory, psychodynamic approaches, and interpersonal neurobiology. I typically use the following modalities based on my clients' unique goals and needs: Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing (Beginning Level II), Coherence Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Clients can expect to receive greater insight and ability to transform the emotional roots of their core challenges in life related to PTSD, anxiety, and depression. New practices for how to process trauma and regulate their emotions are core components of every treatment I offer. Clients can expect to engage in their lives and healing in new ways with the holistic approach we develop together which links integrates mind and body with existential and spiritual aspects of their experiences.
