Alicia Soto
My name is Alicia Soto and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As a graduate of UCLA (B.A. in Psychology) and then USC (Masters), I have worked in LA for 20 years and traveled to most of the U.S. states for work and fun. I have worked with and loved people from all walks of life including underrepresented minorities and been a strong ally to the LGBTQIA* community. I specialize in working with children, families and adults who struggle with managing anxiety, depression, symptoms of ADHD, addiction and trauma. I help you by using an eclectic model of strength-based, solution-focused, trauma-focused CBT, and play therapy if appropriate. In our first few sessions, you can expect us to brainstorm skills/activities to help you feel better and help change your negative thinking that contributes to feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. My practice is unique because I have a unique personal background with a history of trauma, educational and career changes, and moves from Southern California to Dallas. I am passionate about working to help you believe there is hope if you seek it. I will do my best to help you see that your own uniqueness is one of your many strengths.
