Amanda Allen
Originally from New Orleans, LA, I received my BA from LSU in 2014 and my MD from LSU-Shreveport in 2019. I trained in general adult psychiatry at MUSC in Charleston, SC, and have been in private practice since 2023. I am currently board certified, and am licensed by the South Carolina Board of Medicine. I live in Charleston, SC, where I love spending time with loved ones, baking, reading, and watching reality TV. As a board certified psychiatrist, I offer diagnosis, education, medication management, and psychotherapy for depression, anxiety, psychosis, mania, personality disorders, and more. I find it important to approach each patient with both a medical approach and a psychodynamic approach, considering each patient's unique story, upbringing, and environment. I will work closely with my clients to develop unique treatment plans for whatever may be bothering them. After sessions with me, my patients should expect to walk away feeling heard, understood, and cared for. I create a welcoming environment, making all of my patients comfortable in which they can receive quality psychiatric care.
