I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 15 years of experience, including the last 6 being in private practice. I earned my BA at Wright State University. After I completed my MSW with the University of New England, I began to work in private practice, under supervision, to obtain my LISW. I have worked with a variety of people and families from ages 5-55 and with many different struggles. I am a Certified Trauma Practitioner and also focus on serving those in my LGBTQ+ community. I believe you are the expert of your experiences! I take this client-centered approach to provide a non-judgmental, positive, and safe space to allow us to work together to overcome whatever struggles you are facing. We will set goals for you to achieve both long and short term. If appropriate, I utilize a trauma informed and resilient focused approach. I also incorporate mindfulness and CBT as needed into our work together to promote sustainable practices you can use when completing therapy. I hope you will feel safe, supported, accepted, and motivated to make the changes we discuss. I will be a listening ear to validate your feelings, and challenge negative thoughts. I enjoy teaching new coping skills, communication skills, self-care techniques, mindfulness practices, etc. to allow you to expand your “toolbox” that you can use well after completing therapy. In between sessions, homework is suggested, but not mandatory. This is your journey that I am privileged to be a part of!.
