Amanda Mccaw
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified complex trauma practitioner (CCTP-II). In our work together I strive to provide a safe holding environment where you can process through your thoughts and emotions and cultivate a deeper sense of connection with yourself. I focus on the mind-body connection and utilize traditional talk therapy coupled with somatic practices, which allows us to become curious about your internal experience and how emotions manifest within your body. I utilize a client centered and collaborative approach to therapy. I am a trauma and polyvagal infirmed therapist. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the vessel for healing, and I work to foster this therapeutic connection with each and every one of my clients. I also believe in the importance of understanding the mind-body connection. I use a variety of techniques including somatic interventions, brainspotting, attachment based, psychodynamic, and CBT. I hope to cultivate a warm and comforting environment for each of my clients to assist in regulating the nervous system and slowly widening the window of tolerance for emotions. I foster an open and honest communication style with each client and focus on forming a strong relationship.
