Ami Student
Although I consider myself a lifelong learner, my last name (Student) can often throw people. I am a seasoned clinician with extensive experience in the field. I help adults confront a wide range of challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and traumatic stress. I also have expertise in assisting individuals struggling with their physical health, including chronic pain, medical illness, and sleep/insomnia. I value compassion, collaboration, contribution, and genuineness. I show up, remain active, and don’t take this work lightly. With care and understanding, I invite you to “dig in,” make change, and experiment with new ways of living. I use treatments that have scientific support, but individualize them for your needs. I am social-justice oriented, and make every effort to be inclusive and equitable. I also provide welcoming care for those living romantic, sexual, and gender-diverse lives. It is vital that clients see opportunities for real change in their lives. I aim for you to leave sessions with more than simply increased awareness or understanding of your problems. Instead, I hope our meetings allow you to find ways to shift your relationships with yourself, others, and your world. I encourage active experimentation with new ways of living between sessions, so that progress is not isolated to our one hour per week.
