Amina Nikocevic
I practice from an eclectic approach, meaning I like to pull from different orientations depending on the person’s needs, because I don’t believe in one size fits all. I tend to incorporate elements of CBT, ACT, DBT, psychodynamic, narrative therapy, and positive psychology. To me, the therapeutic relationship is a collaborative one, so just as much as my clients are hoping to take away from me, I’m looking to take away from them. I am interested in the shift of focusing on the positives as opposed to the negatives. I pride myself in taking on a nonjudgmental stance in order to create a space of comfort for adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and interpersonal issues. I look forward to our paths aligning! In our work together, I will be able to help you reflect on your life up until this point, as well as provide you with a new lens on the moments that have contributed to the person you are today. My hope is that we can begin to alter the story toward something that is more positive.
