I have a BA in Psychology – Child Development and a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have gathered knowledge and experience in working with individuals with substance abuse issues, anxiety/phobias, adjustment issues, and trauma/PTSD over the past 4.5 years as a LAPC under supervision, some of which was through working with Fereral Probation clients and VA clients. I aim to implement effective counseling and psychotherapy methods (CBT, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, CPT, etc.) with clients to inspire self-understanding, encourage learning healthy coping skills, and the adaptation of new perspective and feelings towards situations that transpire through life. The goal being they will become stronger, confident, independent, and mindful individuals who reach for their dreams. My passion in life is to help others find ways to overcome life’s challenges. There is no wonder medication or magic pill or wand that can fix what is wrong in life, however therapy can provide a safe, unbiased, nonjudgmental, calming environment and opportunity in which the client can relax, open up and process their issues. The client will get out of therapy what they put into it, in other words, client participation and investment are necessary for a successful treatment.
