I completed my B.A. at The Ohio State University (go Bucks!), received my M.A. from Columbia University, and graduated with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Temple University. I then finished my predoctoral internship and subsequent fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital. I'm currently Director of the Adult Outpatient Clinic at Mount Sinai Morningside/Harlem Health Center and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I enjoy traveling, swimming, and cooking. When faced with significant challenges, it is natural to focus on what we believe is “wrong” at that moment. This focus, however, can also diminish our capacity to appreciate our own skills and abilities. I believe that psychotherapy is most effective when it also highlights one’s unique talents, strengths, and creative interests. My main goal during our first session is for you to have a supportive and nonjudgmental space to tell your story and discuss your most pressing concerns. We'll discuss many areas of your life and history, and this involves my asking many questions to begin better understanding you and your circumstances. At the end of this session we'll discuss your specific goals for psychotherapy. I like to think of this first session as the beginning of your unique journey that we'll undertake together.
