Anna Stewart
Hey there, my name is Anna Stewart and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland. I received my Master’s of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have over 6 years of experience providing therapy services in the Baltimore area in both community and outpatient settings to a diverse range of clientele. I have lots of clinical experience working with people struggling with depression and anxiety, substance use disorders, trauma, and personality disorders. I take an active approach to therapy which means I won’t just sit there and stare at you. Together, we will explore the important issues you want to work on and you will be challenged compassionately. I’m a therapist with an arts background. I enjoy leaning into imaginative experience with my clients and utilizing creativity to explore the abstract experience of emotions. I use a combination of CBT, DBT, and trauma informed therapy, all informed by attachment theory and schema therapy frameworks. The most important things we will explore in the first session are: What are the problems you want help with? What do you want to get out of treatment? What is important to you as a person? If you don’t know the answer to these questions right now, don’t panic! I will help you get there. I hope our first session will feel less like visiting a doctor and more like having a friendly conversation that goes pretty deep. I love talking about communication, vulnerability, acceptance, and gratitude.
