Berkeley Bailey
Berkeley V. “Pete” Bailey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. He holds a BA in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Master of Science from Texas A&M University Commerce. In addition, Pete is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Pete currently has a private practice in Frisco, Texas and teaches part-time for the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, National Criminal Justice Training Center, Amber Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program. Before his mental health career, Pete served thirty‐two years in law enforcement in Texas. Upon retirement, Pete attended Texas A&M University, Commerce graduate school. After graduate school, Pete was hired at UT Southwestern Medical Center to work for Dr. Madukar Trivedi in the Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care (CDRCC). The CDRCC is recognized worldwide as one of the best centers for depression research and has developed several new assessment instruments. Pete worked on the development of new interventions for adolescents and taught the Youth and Mental Health Awareness Program, which is a universally delivered mental health program that has shown a 56% reduction rate in suicidal ideation in pre‐post testing with participants in the program. Pete entered private practice in August 2022 and helps others understand how they feel and how to live their best lives.
