Hi, my name is Chris. I have been an LCSW for over 30 years, working with adults in a variety of settings, including community mental health, substance abuse programs, psychiatric emergency services, and rural clinics, I know there are times when life can be overwhelming and having a safe place to talk can really help. If you are dealing with difficult life transitions or struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma, I would love to work with you to create positive changes in your life. Using cognitive behavioral therapy combined with a self compassion and mindfulness approach, I work with clients to uncover distorted negative beliefs and attitudes that can create anxiety, depression, and unnecessary suffering. Using this insight, we can resolve issues from the past that are keeping you stuck in unhealthy patterns, develop more skillful ways to cope with current problems, and explore with you how create the life you want in the future. I want to provide a place where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported so you can talk candidly about what brings you to therapy, your strengths, your challenges, and what changes you would like to see in your life. (I am also happy to answer any questions you might have about my approach or therapy in general.) In the first session we will begin to set tangible goals and discuss specific tools and techniques that will help you make positive changes in your life.
