"I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) continuing to build upon my 7+ years of experience in a variety of psychiatric and behavioral healthcare settings. My treatment approach utilizes aspects of CBT, complementary therapies, and the mindset that medication is a tool, not the solution. I make the assumption that everyone is doing the best they can and if they knew how to do/be better they would. I celebrate little victories. I embrace diversity. I leave room for grace and understanding as we navigate each of our own lived experiences. I have a strong clinical background in acute psychiatric care, with additional experiences working with individuals with varying disabilities, brain injuries, foster care & adoption, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. A mental health diagnosis by no means defines an individual, it simply helps conceptualize a current level of understanding of the patient's presenting symptoms and circumstances and is meant to be refined to best attain the supports and services needed for optimal outcomes and long-term success. We will primarily explore medication management and talk therapy. I view patient care as a collaborative venture that is adjusted based on your individual needs.
