David Foreit
After 40 years of helping people help themselves, with a BA in Social Ecology and a MS in Counseling, I believe all people have the ability to resolve their own issues. During sessions, we will discover what beliefs you have about the behaviors you want to change. Behaviors and attitudes are a result of our beliefs, and are often formed very early in life. Those beliefs and behaviors may have been valid then, but not so much now. If you change the belief you will change the behavior. I use a Socratic approach to therapy. I will ask what you are doing to get what you want in life and if it is working for you. If they are not, I will seek to know what behaviors are being exhibited in reality, and if you could change them. If you think you can, then we will investigate what you would be willing to do instead. Does it make sense to continue doing things that aren't getting you what you want? Clients will begin to develop the hope that what ever they feel is wrong in their life they will also develop the skills needed to make it right.
