I am a first generation college graduate, military veteran and spanish speaking mental health counselor. I have a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. Prior to grad school, I worked 9+ years in the child welfare sector. I have extensive experience working with at risk-youth, foster care and family court. I spent time working with high-risk patients participating in an intensive out-patient program. My approach to therapy is integrative, blending various therapeutic techniques to tailor the treatment to each individual’s unique needs. I primarily draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and mindfulness practices. I am familiar with DBT ( foundational training certified), REBT, and other modalities. My goal is to provide compassionate and personalized care, fostering personal growth and healing for each client. Clients can expect a safe, non-judgmental space where they feel heard, understood, and supported. Our sessions can help clients improve their communication skills, set healthy boundaries, and build stronger, more fulfilling relationships with others. By exploring and addressing specific issues, clients will develop effective problem-solving skills, empowering them to handle future challenges more confidently and independently.
