Hello! It’s a pleasure to meet you, please call me Dee. I’m a licensed mental health counselor in Florida and a retired Army veteran. I have over 18 years of professional counseling experience working with both children and adults. My undergraduate degree was earned at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and my graduate degree earned at the University of North Florida. Credentials: Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor Nationally Board-Certified Mental Health Counselor Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor Florida Board Certified Telehealth Practitioner Certified Supervisor for Post Graduate Mental Health Counselors I have served clients as individuals, families, and within group environments. Additionally, my counseling experience has included inpatient, outpatient, and crisis stabilization units within the Florida Department of Corrections. I also served as the mental health authority within medium to low-risk juvenile inpatient programs. My experience also includes working within community social service agencies and Medicaid programs. In my years of professional experience, I have found that Depressive and Anxiety Disorders are managed best using Psychotherapy. Whereas many clients may find it helpful to include Antidepressant/Antianxiety medications, it has been my experience that medications alone are less effective and are often supported by Counseling Intervention with a Professional Counselor.
