I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with 31 years of professional work experience. I have worked in multiple settings including the mental health system, the school system, at an Employee Assistance Program, an in-patient alcohol rehab and within the foster care system. I have helped clients with many different concerns including stress and anxiety, depression, loss and grief, relationship issues, anger management, motivation, self esteem and assertiveness. I use a number of different therapy models including solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy. The most important part of counseling is meeting you where you are at, treating you with respect, and developing a trusting therapeutic relationship. I realize that making changes can be uncomfortable, As a professional, a wife, and a mother of two grown children, I have faced many situations that have taken me out of my comfort zone. I believe that my experiences, as well as my training, will help you navigate outside your comfort zone as well. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you.

How do we determine which ones to display?

Rather than make specific provider recommendations, we present options and information so you can make an informed decision on what provider best fits your needs. Where we have multiple participating providers, we present multiple options (and where we don't, we prioritize adding more options to our site over time). We present providers whose capabilities, insurance coverage, availability and other attributes best match your stated needs. If many providers appear to equally meet your needs, we display a selection of them at random. Our decision on which participating providers to display is never impacted by the amount of fees we receive from them.

What causes us to remove providers from our site?

We require that providers meet all licensing requirements of states where they offer services. If a provider loses their license, they are removed from our site for that state or service. We also seek feedback from users on providers they find on our site. We investigate significant negative feedback and remove providers if we conclude that to be appropriate.
