Elaine Mains
In 2001, I received my bachelors in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. I received my MA in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2005. Some of my years of experience includes living and working overseas and because of this, I have a heart to understand cultural issues. I have been married since 2012 and have 3 amazing young children. The techniques I use in my work are important to me because I have seen them transform myself and my relationships. I have a compassionate, authentic, and down-to-earth approach to therapy. I see therapy as the process of removing the weeds and rocks from the soil of your life. As we build a therapy relationship together, I want to be authentic in this process with you, since I’m asking you to do the same. Although we discuss some harder topics, I hope that you will also experience safety, normalcy, and a few laughs. I utilize CBT, somatic therapy, and EMDR in my practice. I am certified in EMDR. I can help you work through: Feelings of sadness, depression, and hopelessness Anxiety, worries, or doubts that can feel overwhelming Past hurts and traumas that are still bothering you and holding you back Being able to “own your own space,” growing in confidence and having healthy boundaries.
