In addition to my formal educational background, I bring my whole self to my counseling work: my passion for individual and collective liberation, my curiosity, my love for life, my creativity, and my own experiences with personal growth and healing. You are the expert on yourself, and I'm here to support you on your journey of growth and healing - whatever that looks like for you. My approach to therapy is rooted in my values of justice, peace, and autonomy. I strive to help the people I work with to understand themselves and to feel empowered to move towards a life that reflects their own deepest values. I believe that each of us is unique, and it is up to us to determine how best to care for ourselves so that we can share our gifts with the world. I utilize techniques and concepts from a variety of philosophies and I am open about what I am doing and why. I encourage the people I work with to be curious about themselves, to understand the impact of the cultures in which we exist, and to identify and figure out how to move past whatever is getting in the way. Through our work together, many of my clients have reported feeling improved self-esteem; less burdened by symptoms of trauma; more inspired and capable; and more connected to themselves and others.
