Emma Taylor
Emma graduated with her master's degree in 2016. Emma began her therapy career working with children and families impacted by trauma and has sought out further training and specialization in trauma work and attachment focused healing. Since then, Emma has worked in private practice with teens and adults as well as in hospital settings with seniors. Emma specializes in treating clients with depression and anxiety, clients experiencing major life changes, and clients with a history of trauma. Emma combines evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, etc.) with relational approaches (attachment focused, psychodynamic, client centered, etc.). This allows clients to begin to better understand themselves and develop skills to cope with the stressors of daily life while also developing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. In addition to teaching skills to help manage and reduce symptoms, I help clients make sense of what may be contributing to symptoms: What changes and stressors have come into your life recently? How were big feelings expressed and understood in your home as a child? What relationship patterns do you get stuck in, no matter how hard you try to "pick someone better?" Through understanding, we can begin to make real changes that will allow you to feel more in control of your life.
