Felisha Hooks
I earned a BS in Applied Learning & Development from the University of Texas at Austin. For several years, I worked in early childhood intervention, as a disability specialist, & I provided case management & skills training services through various agencies. I then earned an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Seminary of the Southwest. While I do not have a specialty, I have the most experience working with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, & those with a history of trauma. I draw on both life and work experiences to inform how I offer therapy. My priority is to provide culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed services. I am intentional about acknowledging and respecting the humanity in others, regardless of our differences. I work primarily from a CBT framework. However, I often integrate concepts such as mindfulness, spirituality, and exploring personal values. My goal is for you to leave our therapeutic relationship with tools you can use throughout your lifetime. My therapeutic style is relaxed and relational. I believe we can approach hard things gently and with humor. I want you to feel safe enough in this space to trust the collaborative process.
