Gordon Lyons
Greetings—I appreciate your courage in thinking about starting or restarting therapy—it can make anyone nervous. Just a little about me: I’m honored to say I bring more than 25 years of experience as an adult and adolescent therapist. Originally from Overland Park, Kansas, I’m now a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who served, lived and traveled abroad. I worked with widely diverse clients during my service and continually practiced what I preach. I warmly welcome all and bring extensive experience in: supporting Service Members and Veterans as they cope with and resolve trauma; guiding adolescents through challenges related to adjustment, depression, anxiety, identity issues, and juvenile offending behavior; and fostering growth and healing for individuals and couples in the LGBTQIA+ community. I set goals and objectives collaboratively with my clients and utilize a holistic approach to create a warm and supportive, patient and productive therapeutic environment. My clients, who often include fellow healthcare professionals, now consistently benefit from the gentleness and patience, and timely and valuable insights, I’ve learned throughout my career.
