Hazel Woody
Hi! My name is Hazel Woody. I have my LCSW in Wisconsin. I received my Masters degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. Before that, I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. I have worked in a range of positions in the field of social work. I always knew I wanted to be in a helping profession, but it took me time to decide what capacity that would be. My personal and professional experiences lead me to have a passion for helping others heal and find their inner voice. Two of the main theoretical frameworks I utilize are CBT and motivational interviewing. I like to create a very comfortable, laid-back environment. I let my clients lead the conversations and build rapport before jumping into treatment. I always take a trauma-informed care approach and try to understand what makes my clients who they are. This allows me an understanding of what treatment will work best for them. My goal is always to leave my clients better than they were when they came to me. I do this by offering validation and affirmations. I help clients develop coping skills and a self-care routine, as these are two of the most important factors when it comes to caring for one’s mental health. I empower my clients to use their tools and problem solving skills to manage their stressors.
