Real change doesn't tend to happen without some degree of challenge, but that challenge should still be warm and understanding. I draw from a number of different theories to accomplish this, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and others. I try to keep things warm, collegial, and relaxed. Clients should feel comfortable in therapy because it sets the stage for the impactful moments that encourage us all to break from the less helpful patterns in our lives and find a way to be happier, more fulfilled, and more effectively living up to our abilities.
