Jessica Orr
I'm Jess! I attended the University of Akron for both my Bachelors and Masters in Social Work. I fell in love with therapy while working with combat Veterans while I lived in Washington State and was trained in CPT and EMDR. I continued to treat trauma, in the military population, until I transitioned to my own practice. As a mother, with my own lived experience, I became passionate about the perinatal journey for parents and received training for Perinatal Mental Health to offer locally. I take a somatic approach to therapy and believe it's important to not only focus on what you're cognitively aware of with your life experiences, but also get familiar and bring attention to where you hold and feel that emotionally and sensationally. You've probably said to yourself "I know this isn't true, but sometimes it feels that way." You're the expert of your life, I'm trained to help guide you in understanding and overcoming any obstacles that may have arose throughout. It's important to me that you feel comfortable and heard while in session. We will develop a treatment plan driven by your goals and use measurements and frequent check-ins with your treatment plan to ensure we are staying on track and make any appropriate adjustments as we continue to ensure we're making forward progress.
