Jocelyn Sterling
I am Jocelyn Sterling, a Florida state-licensed therapist with a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from USF. I have 30+ yrs of experience in individual, couples, group, & family therapy, & 3 years of virtual, or telehealth therapy, with children/teens, couples, & families. I have a wealth of successful experience in treating a variety of issues, including self-esteem deficits, anxiety/depression problems, marital discord, autism spectrum concerns, addiction, & grief/loss issues. I facilitate the discovery process as a supportive, respectful guide, helping each person prevail in their pursuit of awareness. I use an eclectic combination of elements from therapies like cognitive behavior therapy, person-centered, or active-listening therapy, gestalt, and mindfulness therapies to help clients find solutions to their problems. I perceive each individual as having a wellspring of personal power, & the resources to help themselves, with a little help from friends, family, & therapists like me. Clients can expect to get a better understanding of themselves & loved ones, to learn effective communication techniques to reduce conflicts, as well as strategies for increasing self-regulation, serenity, joy, and self-esteem, plus new coping skills to employ in overcoming life's challenges.
