I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University. My education and experience have equipped me to counsel diverse individuals with diverse problems. My professional background includes 8 years working as a prison psychotherapist, and 10+ years on the pastoral staff of a nondenominational Christian church. My approach combines modern psychotherapy with a spiritual (not necessarily religious) perspective. My goal is to assist clients toward health and wholeness in every aspect of their lives: psychological, physical, spiritual, and relational . I want to empower you to make necessary changes in your thinking and behavior, as well as to explore and appreciate the sources of greatest meaning in your life. NOTE: I only offer individual counseling and not couples counseling. Counseling felons for almost a decade means I've heard most everything and I don't judge. Your past need not determine your future. Most clients find me friendly, encouraging, and easy to talk to. You can expect practical advice related to evidence-based strategies for solving problems, but you can also expect questions aimed at challenging your perspective of your issues and your life in general.
