I believe that counseling enables people to be the best version of themselves. My goal is to help you make positive choices in your life. One of the most important aspects of counseling is the therapeutic relationship between client and counselor. This relationship should provide you with the confidence to navigate life’s challenges, and teach you the tools to navigate them. I graduated from the University of Montevallo in 2015 with a Masters of Education in Mental Health Counseling. I have a background working with children and parents as a K-8 Art Teacher. I provide an integrated approach to therapy. In my counseling, I have worked with individuals struggling with trauma, substance use, self esteem, codependency, depression, anxiety and grief. My hope is to provide a safe and non judgmental space for you to express yourself and work through your difficulties Each person has talents, skills and inner resources that equip them for the challenges they face. My role as counselor is to educate and motivate each client to utilize their own resources. You will learn to trust in yourself and recognize your talents and strengths. I will support and challenge, empathize and confront according to what’s called for in any specific situation.
