Joseph Priolo
Joseph earned a master’s degree in social work from Fordham University and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Rutgers University. He is a licensed social worker and clinical alcohol and drug counselor (LCADC). Joseph was drawn to the field after being personally affected by addiction. Joseph says watching clients grow and seeing that “light” back in their eyes is what he finds most fulfilling about his work. Joseph enjoys spending time with his family, performing music, and reading. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Based Therapy, and the Humanistic Approach. I believe it is important for the therapist to work alongside the client to build rapport and establish trust so that the client feels safe to begin the healing process. I am a seasoned therapist with over six years of experience working in the substance abuse and mental health field. I am most passionate about guiding my clients to achieve a healthier self to accomplish each goal they have set. I learned that people want to be validated and heard. If I can be that person for each client I meet then I did my due diligence as a therapist to show unconditional positive regard, non-judgment, and listening empathetically.
