Julie Yates
I have 24+ years of experience working with a variation of at-risk populations in several professional settings. I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker in New York and New Jersey, and a CASAC who has worked with young men of color providing mental health counseling, supporting job training toward careers, and families. I have also provided supportive counseling to pre-adolescents, adolescents and early child hood students and families. Therapeutic approaches to couples through EFT, and life transition challenges with elders. I have a keen interest in the phase of life problems resulting from major transitions in generational, development and family dynamics. We will work to explore relationships, historical racial/generational trauma, racism and other isms, family/work and career/life balance, which includes partner, parenting/childcare decisions, grief/loss, or medical issues. Our partnership will use integrative evidence-based practices to meet your goals. We will adapt your life trajectory with the aim of unpacking maladaptive thoughts, and behaviors that interfere with your intentions. In a safe space we will access internal strengths, enhance coping mechanisms, and outline methods of self-care by holistically addressing mind, body, and spirit. We will work on identified goals by building insight, healing, and skills to improve your outlook on life, relationships and systems.
