Kaitlin Duren
Kaitlin helps her clients discover healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their interpersonal relationships. Kaitlin is particularly interested in working with couples and LGBTQ+ individuals. She has previous experience working with clients around depression, anxiety, trauma, self-image/self-compassion, career/academic stress, life transitions, relationship issues, gender and sexuality, and identity formation. She uses EMDR and a Cognitive-Behavioral framework to inform her practice. Kaitlin has completed EMDR training with the EMDR International Association. EMDR is often used to treat PTSD or other traumas but can also reduce anxiety, depression, and other symptoms. EMDR therapy facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences to bring these to an adaptive resolution. Working within the CBT framework, Kaitlin helps clients identify their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and develop a personalized toolkit of coping strategies to utilize in changing their behaviors. She aims to provide a safe, affirming, and empowering space for clients to process and make progress. As a queer person, Kaitlin uses her own lived experiences to help create an affirming and non-judgemental space for clients of all cultural backgrounds and identities.
