Karen Dekett
Therapy is for everyone; you belong here! A little bit about me: I have been an LPC for over 10 years, and I obtained my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. I have experience working in both small and large non-profit organizations, focusing on helping survivors of trauma, caregivers, helping professionals, and leaders. The relationship between a client and their therapist is key to healing, so I center creating a space that is safe, supportive, and empowering. My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness techniques, and Motivational Interviewing. Our sessions will be tailored to meet your unique needs, ensuring that your voice is centered at every step. My goal is to ensure that you feel heard, supported, and believed at every step in the therapeutic process. I take time to truly listen and understand your unique experiences, history, and perspectives. I bring a mix of exploration and education to sessions to help you better understand the "why" behind your behavior and learn practical skills and tools to help you thrive. I utilize homework and activities outside of sessions as appropriate and requested.
