Hi! I am a board-certified geropsychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of dementia. I obtained my PhD from the University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa in 2016 and completed and internship and post doc at South Texas VA. I am passionate about serving individuals and their loved ones throughout the dementia process, including diagnosis, long-term planning, caregiver support, and behavior management consultation. I offer full gero/neuro evaluations for diagnosis of dementia and related disorders. I also offer therapy for caregivers of individuals with dementia to coach and support them in their role. Finally, I offer consultation to assist with management of challenging behavior and personality changes that commonly occur in the context of a dementia diagnosis. My goal for an assessment is to provide a clear, accurate cognitive diagnosis along with an array of recommendations and resources relevant to each individual. When working with caregivers, I strive to offer a place where caregivers feel supported, able to share difficult thoughts/emotions, and work towards balance between caregiving and their own well-being. Behavior management consultation seeks to develop a plan to reduce challenging behaviors often seen in dementia.
