
Lana Simmons
I graduated from Washington State University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences focusing my studies on psychology, human development and sociology. I went on to Pacific Lutheran University, earning my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Mental Health Professional, Child Mental Health Specialist, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. I use a whole-person, systemic lens focusing on what each client deems most significant. I look at each individuals’ strengths as well as how their difficulties in various life domains impact their overall functioning. I believe that knowledge is powerful and will weave helpful information and education on mental health topics throughout sessions. I am passionate about helping people reach their full potential. I work to empower my clients to live more satisfying lives. Clients report that when working with me they feel heard, understood and affirmed. Clients often leave sessions with new insights, skills or strategies to try for emotional regulation, conflict resolution, facing confrontation, overcoming shame, processing grief and loss, engagin in healthy parenting, and incorporating more effective executive functioning into their lives.
