Leah Mead
I have a history working in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings throughout my career. I developed a passion for helping marginalized groups, specifically the LGBTQIA+ and queer communities, and for helping all people address the trauma in their lives. I have experience with adults with a variety of mental health and substance use disorders, but I also enjoy working with people who just need support through various transitions and struggles in their lives. My therapeutic style is genuine, accepting, and collaborative. I believe that you know yourself better than anyone, and I am here to assist and empower you to become the person you want to be, while challenging thoughts or behaviors that are standing in your way. I work best with adults who want to work together to build a therapeutic relationship. I use an eclectic clinical approach that combines CBT, DBT, solution focused, somatic, MI, and existential frameworks. You can expect a collaborative effort to help you with what you're experiencing. I create goals and outcomes for therapy with you, based on needs you identify. You can expect a relaxed and friendly environment in which I want to understand you and have a conversation with you.
