Leisa Williams
If this is a season where you feel isolated, disconnected, unseen, misunderstood, and hopeless, you've come to the right place. You may wonder if you can create a more fulfilling, connected life where you can feel peace and begin a journey of less angst. My goal is to help you develop strategies to deal with things that trouble you and things that will come because life has a sea of ups and downs. My expertise is in working with children and parents. I have numerous years working as a psychologist in educational settings from pre-k through age 22, as well as residential treatment settings. My training allows me to address developmental delays, learning disabilities, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, executive functioning deficits, anxiety, and relationship building. I have also worked with adults who experience mental and emotional stress due to anxiety, depression, parent-child relationships, transitions after relocation and the like. I have over 20 years conducting evaluations for disabilities that may require special education services. I also use assessment tools to measure progress in therapy. In the last year, I've worked with clients online as well as in person. Telehealth is not the best format for young children so, if you want a child under the age of 18 to be seen, it's best to schedule a session in-office. I currently have the option to schedule closed in order to ensure that I get everyone scheduled with no overlaps. Everyone thrives in the context of close and dependable relationships and this is especially true for young children. I use interpersonal therapy techniques to help clients of all ages process emotions and build/maintain social supports. My goal is to assist clients with navigating the challenges of life as seamlessly as possible. I have used play therapy techniques with children, and games with adolescents to explore emotions and develop coping strategies, work through concerns, and build better relationships with family and friends. For some clients, CBT helps them recognize their limiting beliefs and use their strengths to learn to move on and cope. It would be a pleasure to partner with you. Whether it is your child or you as the parent, we can't climb a mountain alone (or at least we shouldn't). I'm here to pass some bungee cords. https://www.sondermind.com/providers/w5gvbvf2/leisa-williams
