Lori Scott
I have been in practice for over 11 years and I am passionate about mental health and strongly believe in making mental health services available to everyone, regardless of your income level. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas State University in San Marcos and my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edwards University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and specialize in individual, couple, group, and family therapy. I work with children 12+, adolescents, and adults, and I specialize in trauma, anxiety, PTSD, depression, crisis management, disorganized eating, self-harm, and family dynamics issues. During my intern years, I worked at Capital Area Counseling and The Settlement Home for Children, where I continued to be a Therapist/Supervisor for several years post internship. I am a Trust Based Relational Intervention® Practitioner and trainer, and I am a member of the Texas Counseling Association. Therapy is a collaborative process that can not only help to adjust problematic thinking or behaviors, but can help mend and rebuild interpersonal relationships. I offer a nonjudgmental therapeutic setting that is a multi-disciplinary, client centered approach to therapy. My goal is to help alleviate problematic thinking and behaving that can negatively impact daily functioning, leading to a healthier and happier way of living daily.
