Melanie Cain
Dr. Melanie Cain is affiliated with the Santa Clara Pueblo and Jicarilla Apache tribes of Northern New Mexico. She is a licensed psychologist and has 17 years experience serving American Indians, Veterans, and other communities of color. She is focused on the integration of culturally informed interventions, cognitive theories, and interpersonal modalities to create wellness and community connection. I provide supportive, trauma informed care which focuses on the relationship between culture, health, and wellness. This includes understanding the role of cultural heritage, family dynamics, spiritual beliefs, and community influences. My goal is to maintain an open line of communication so we may explore interpersonal difficulties, manage emotional distress, and identify constructive solution focused approaches to find meaning and create effective change. My clients share how they have increased insight and new perspectives after sessions. Clients will gain new perspectives and approaches to managing concerns and meeting personal goals. You can expect to feel renewed after therapy sessions. Throughout the course of therapy you will feel increased motivation, a renewed sense of resilience, strength and confidence within yourself, finding improvement within relationships and other areas of your life.
