Michael Mann
I work primarily with men in their 20s and 30s, teens, and families. I worked in education for a few years before going back to grad school because I saw a need for mental health care for the families and teens I worked with. I worked in community mental health from 2016-2018 before moving into private practice. I work from an existential perspective. The difficult parts of life often hold the potential to teach us something valuable. I want everyone to dig into the work of finding an authentic sense of what they find brings meaning and purpose to their lives. In that process I think it is necessary to examine the systems that have an impact on us, from our families, to our culture, to our economic and political systems, and even to the very healthcare system that you are engaging with right now. I hope that the people I work with would feel empowered to move through a chaotic world. Sometimes that means finding ways to care for ourselves well and leaning into the wisdom we find along the way. Other times that means changing up the dance that we get so caught up in and finding the small but powerful ways that we can shift and change those patterns that result in stuckness.
