The school where I received my degree as a mental health clinician was Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena California. At the time it was still a somewhat alternative school approaching teaching in an experiential way. We did not have any exams but had to analyze and write about every single class we attended. While attending school I also worked as a teacher in Pacific Oaks pre-school program. But truth be told, my children are my true teachers. I am a very proud mother of five adult children and I feel they have been and still are my greatest teachers. Parenting has been the hardest but most rewarding experience in my life. When asked what I love to do I find it hard to answer with one or two things because there are so many things I love to do and I am very grateful for this. I work with Individuals, children and families and couples I work with a focus on the mindbody connection and I specialize in Trauma informed therapy. I work with survivors of sexual, physical, emotional abuse. Working with PTSD is a passion of mine generated from my own experiences in life. I also work with Mindful Parenting. By integrating the body, mind, and spirit in the process, my clients are able to find a connection to the origin of the problem. They are also able to find solutions. Solutions that are effective and more permanent. This by changing neuro-pathways leading to change in thought patterns, behaviors & emotions. When it comes to parenting my work is about supporting you in trusting your instincts, and to guide you in being effective as a parent. A respected child learns self respect, and a person who respects themselves will make better/healthier choices in life. You are their role model which means self respect also applies to you and I will do my best to support you in allowing yourself that. I do this through Brainspotting, Integrative Body Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness. Brainspotting is a powerful treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neuro-physiological sources of emotional & physical pain. You will feel validated as I will support you in transforming and healing. I will empower and inspire you to make use of what you have been through, allowing your experiences to become your strengths. You will be able to find solutions and they can entail accepting what is, as well as letting go of what no longer serves you. I will encourage you to feel good about yourself and for you to live with self respect. You will learn to be kind to yourself.
