Paul Remmele
Hi, I’m Paul Remmele, LMFT. As a therapist, I have an eclectic approach. I believe personal growth can occur by alternately focusing on thoughts, emotions and/or behavior. However, in my graduate studies, subsequent training, and my own personal psychotherapy, I learned to value attachment orientated therapy, which focuses on feelings and the ability to develop and maintain secure relationships. I believe the ability to bond with others inevitably leads to deeper fulfillment. I am a client-directed psychotherapist. I believe in clients’ innate wisdom regarding their inner life. I therefore help clients find their true voice and identify the goals they believe can help them achieve their deepest potential and most enduring satisfaction. I often find that a focus on attachment and feelings can accelerate the therapeutic process. I also help people realize and appreciate their strengths and significant qualities, which many of us don’t see or tend to undervalue. Building trust and creating a safe environment is the first essential step in therapy since many of us still carry around the pain and hurt from our childhood and more recent adult experiences. I strive to understand and feel what my clients are thinking and feeling. Another essential goal I have is to build on clients’ inner strengths and enhance their self-esteem so they begin to believe that they can change their lives and realize deeper satisfaction.
