My name is May, a bilingual (English and Mandarin) therapist with 6+ years of experience who was born and raised in Shanghai. I came to the U.S. as a teen, and now I live in NYC. I have interned at a public art high school and then a community mental health center in Philadelphia. Previously, I worked at a nonprofit in Brooklyn, helping Asian and Latino immigrant families by providing individual, couple, group and family trauma-informed therapy. I take on an integrative approach which combines elements of ACT, Family System, psychodynamic, strength-based, etc., depending on each client's needs and preferences. I am trained in EMDR to help clients process past trauma. I have also helped many AAPI clients deepen their self-understanding and achieve self-compassion and healing through exploration of their family dynamic, cultural values and identities, as well as to process their complex trauma using EMDR and/or talk therapy. .

To make our site free for consumers, Psych Hub receives fees from provider groups, networks, or individual providers to connect with potential clients who are a fit for their services. How do we determine which ones to display?

Rather than make specific provider recommendations, we present options and information so you can make an informed decision on what provider best fits your needs. Where we have multiple participating providers, we present multiple options (and where we don't, we prioritize adding more options to our site over time). We present providers whose capabilities, insurance coverage, availability and other attributes best match your stated needs. If many providers appear to equally meet your needs, we display a selection of them at random. Our decision on which participating providers to display is never impacted by the amount of fees we receive from them.

What causes us to remove providers from our site?

We require that providers meet all licensing requirements of states where they offer services. If a provider loses their license, they are removed from our site for that state or service. We also seek feedback from users on providers they find on our site. We investigate significant negative feedback and remove providers if we conclude that to be appropriate.
