Rebecca Eyre
With 10+ years of experience, I specialize in eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and LGBTQ+ issues. While I use evidence-based tools like CBT, DBT, etc, my training is in relational psychodynamic therapy - which is a fancy way of saying that I believe true healing happens when both client & therapist bring their whole selves and are radically open & honest in that experience. Therapy opens a window to your internal world and is a safe place to practice new ways of relating to self and others. First and foremost, I'm a person - and one who's been in my own depth therapy for many years. As a result, I bring humanity, humor, and compassion to my work. While some therapists sit back and wait for their clients to come to breakthroughs on their own, that’s not my style. If you're stuck in a cycle that you can’t seem to interrupt, my goals are to 1) offer kindness to that experience, 2) help you connect the dots and understand why, and 3) creatively find a new, more aligned way forward. I strive to meet people where they are and deeply understand the landscape of their life as it is. Our first few sessions will likely be an exploration of what's working and what isn't. I want to walk alongside my clients in the direction they want to go. You are the ultimate authority on your own experience and my primary role is to learn from you - and help you learn to trust your gut. Learn more about my practice at www.rjetherapy.com.
