Richard Cox
Hello, let me introduce myself. My name is Richard Cox, Ph.D.; I am comfortable with you addressing me as either “Richard” or “Dr. Cox.” I have a master’s degree in mental health counseling and a Ph.D. in Counseling, with an emphasis on Marriage & Family Therapy. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the State of Utah . My experience as a psychotherapist covers over 24 years, and I have worked for non-profit agencies in Ohio, Arizona, and Utah. I have also been in private practice in Utah. I have worked with couples, families, parent-child relationships, serious mental illness patients (bipolar, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and personality disorders), and quite a few anger management clients. I believe that the good mental health of one individual blesses the lives of everyone else connected to him or her. Hope is an essential life empowering force, and I encourage people to focus on their goals with a belief in their capacity to succeed. My focus is to provide support that is genuine, empathic, and non-judgmental. My education, training, and experience are focused on the promotion of the individual’s, couple’s, and family’s successes.
