Sara Buckley
Hi! I'm originallly from the East Coast and recevied my formal education at McGill University in Montreal. While I've been employed as a therapist since 2004, I moved to Austin in 2009, and have been working in private practice in South Austin since 2012. I'm a licensed clinical social work supervisor and a registered play therapist supervisor, and enjoy working with people of all ages. I have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient, home-based, and residential treatment centers. I strive to make therapy useful and solution-focused, while also maintaining flexibility, creativity and a holistic approach by combining a variety of approaches and modailities (such as CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and sandtray therapy). I have extensive training and expereince in providing child-centered play therapy to youth in the foster care system. I feel honored and passionate about helping people on their healing journey, and believe that even small steps can lead to much larger life changes. I'm strive to be honest, genuine, and sincere while also showing compassion and warmth.
