Scott Pasnik
I am an LPC and a transplant from Chicago. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology Counseling Practice from Roosevelt University in 2015. I have worked in hospital settings, community mental health, and in private practice. Despite the pain we all feel, I enjoy incorporating humor into my therapy practice, so expect a few dad jokes...I have plenty of them. When I am not seeing clients, I enjoy sports, traveling, and boating. I use the ACT approach, which is a value based therapy. Typically, clients come to therapy to get rid of their uncomfortable feelings and emotions. With ACT, the goal is to reduce the impact and influence of unwanted thoughts and feelings through the use mindfulness. We work towards incorporating your values in how you live, work and relate to others. Clients will learn that their feelings are valid and not "bad" while also accepting that they cannot control their thoughts, only their response and actions. Additionally, clients will gain insight into their values and start living a value driven life.
