I enjoy sailing, white-water rafting, reading, theater. I have been a therapist for 16 years and I have worked with diverse populations including the homeless, veterans, women, children, families, addiction, mentally and physically disabled, individual and groups. I have a master's in counseling and have licenses in Mental Health and Substance Abuse. I have certifications in sexual addiction, sleep, exercise and nutrition, and working with people with disabilities to get employment. I use a holistic approach to work with the whole person. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, working with thoughts, feelings and behaviors that affect your life and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, using mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance and emotional regulation. I help you explore unresolved childhood experiences, trauma and relationships. I am compassionate, empathetic, and intuitive and I promote opportunities for diverse perspectives and open communication. There is homework of writing, exploration of feelings, and emotions. I use a combination of serious work and humor.
