Sheila Ewell
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington with over 13 years of experience. I enjoy working with kids, teens, and adults who are struggling with problems such as anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, poor self-esteem, and trauma. I have 3 degrees in Psychology: Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, University of Washington, Seattle, WA Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology, Marymount University, Arlington, VA Master of Science in Counseling, Southern Methodist University, Plano, TX I use primarily cognitive behavioral techniques, but I am also skilled in trauma-focused, dialectical behavioral and solution-focused therapies, as well as play and activity therapy. "Therapy only works if you work it." I truly believe this statement. But I also believe that therapy is an open, non-judgmental "conversation" to uncover a person's unique situation and struggles, as well as their strengths and passions. In that way, I can provide the best possible individualized care. I want what is best for you, with the understanding that nothing meaningful comes without work and commitment, but I will be with you every step of the way.
