After training for my master's degree in counseling, I left a wonderful teaching and school guidance career to become a therapist. I specialize in treating adolescents and teens, and use a variety of techniques with patients. I apply specific counseling techniques according to each, individual case. I typically use more psycho-education at the beginning of therapy to help the patient build a therapeutic foundation. We then begin to examine past history that may be affecting the patient in the present. Patients typically set their own treatment goals with therapist guidance, these are set in six month increments which allow the patient to continue working on the same goals if more time is needed.

Rather than make specific provider recommendations, we present options and information so you can make an informed decision on what provider best fits your needs. Where we have multiple participating providers, we present multiple options (and where we don't, we prioritize adding more options to our site over time). We present providers whose capabilities, insurance coverage, availability and other attributes best match your stated needs. If many providers appear to equally meet your needs, we display a selection of them at random. Our decision on which participating providers to display is never impacted by the amount of fees we receive from them.

We have a contractual relationship with each provider that governs the terms of their participation on the site, and in some cases, as mentioned above, their use of Psych Hub's educational content. What causes us to remove providers from our site?

We require that providers meet all licensing requirements of states where they offer services. If a provider loses their license, they are removed from our site for that state or service. We also seek feedback from users on providers they find on our site. We investigate significant negative feedback and remove providers if we conclude that to be appropriate.
